No wonder the automotive industry is in trouble

Anyone see the new Toyota Tundra commercials? I emailed somoene at Toyota this morning the following:

I tried using the email link on your website and it doesn't work. Perhaps you could pass along this information to the idiot in charge of your marketing department: your current Toyota Tundra commercial must be the most stupid commercial for an automobile I have ever seen. One of the alleged features of your trucks, as stated in this commercial, is that they "Brake on command". Wow. Compared to all the other vehicles on the road with no brakes? Compared to other vehicles with independent minded brakes that stop the vehicle when they feel like it, and not when the driver wishes it to stop? If your marketing department cannot come up with better reasons to buy a Toyota Tundra other than the fact that the brakes work, I think you need a new V/P of Marketing and remove the current putz who allows such stupidity to air on the public airwaves.

It takes a lot to stop a truck, especially when it's towing a large trailer GL. We have the biggest brakes in the segment and features like Brake Assist (which helps in emergency stops) Anti lock brakes and Brake force distribution (which distributes power to the brakes which need it most)Yes, it's very important that something that can tow over 10,000 lbs has the ability to stop it as well. Traction control and vehicle stability control are also standard!

That's fine Greg, and I'm sure they are. But to state in a commercial that the truck "brakes on command" is just plain stupid. It better!

Toyota is not in trouble. In fact, they have been doing reasonably well.

While I don't own a Tundra-type vehicle, I can appreciate the value of a good braking system.
